Pickler lived in a difficult family. When she was two, her mother fled an violent relationship. Her mother returned in 1995 into her life, and she took complete custody. It did not work out as planned. After Pickler reached the age of 12, the court returned her to her maternal grandparents whom she grew up until adulthood. Pickler was unable to parent her children when they were absent. She said that because she had no time for studying, she began learning how to cook and clean at an early age. Pickler was part of her high school's and middle school's cheerleading squad. North Stanly High School graduated in the year 2004. Pickler is also a beauty contestant.
